The local legends

J-Slyde

When you read the already tried and tested ramble of a DJ’s “passion for music” or how “music is their life” it takes away from people like J-Slyde who well and truly embodies all that is good about his craft.

Having embraced the ever growing electronic new wave that swept through the 90’s, J first put stylus to vinyl in 2003 and has never looked back. Throughout his almost 15 years behind the console he's touched on a long list of genres, having residencies across Melbourne playing everything from breaks to progressive-house, through to drum n bass and techno.

First and foremost J prides himself on being a versatile DJ, a quality that's spurred on by his deep and varied knowledge of all things musical and a trait that shines through in every performance; He's as comfortable playing an intimate warm-up club set as he is playing to sold-out festival crowds.

Co-manning the nationally respected brand Substance Sounds, and birthing the hugely successful club-night Prognosis, J has also had the honor of supporting artists such as Nick Warren, Hybrid, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Guy J, Apparat, Jody Wisternoff, Pig & Dan, Rennie Pilgrim, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors and Lee Coombs, while being a regular guest at parties such as Darkbeat, Instinct, Doesn’t Matter, Mahala and playing at festivals such as Rainbow Serpent & Summadayze, to name but a select few.

Now with production in the pipeline and a bevy of other musical projects in the works, J's passion for music is all too evident and shows no signs of waning.

Jimmy Le Mac

Originally hailing from the UK, Loophole Recordings co-owner Jimmy Le Mac is a Melbourne based producer specialising in a unique blend of house, techno and breaks with a strong focus on basslines.

Le Mac has already made a name for himself with the acclaimed ‘Wiggle EP’ on the Stanton Warriors label Punks Music, which DJ Mag referred to as “absolutely essential” in their seven star review. Jimmy has also release numerous singles on his own imprint Loophole Recordings and continues to grow the label into Melbourne's number one underground House & Techno label.

Coming from a background of bass fuelled beats straight out of the UK underground, you can hear echoes of drum & bass heavyweight Dillinja in those Le Mac basslines, the searing breaks of the Stanton Warriors as well as a touch of Justin Martin’s eclecticism across his productions.

FLIP3K

Flip3000 aka Flip3k, is known across Melbourne as a versatile DJ, keen to lay down a variety of sounds to get rowdy with any crowd in any setting.
One half of Production duo Common Underground, and one half of the brains behind Loophole Recordings, alongside Jimmy Le Mac in both projects, he is constantly trying to achieve more and more within the music industry.

Starting his career with a weekly residency at the legendary Melbourne Friday night party destination that was St.Jerome's, Flip threw himself into Melbourne club culture as soon soon as he could (like quite literally, days after turning 18). From his quick entry into the deep end, he spread himself across the city's venues very quickly as a guest at multiple breakbeat, techno and DnB nights, and infamous bar hotspots, eventually leading to running his own club brands, 'Juicyloops', and 'Branded Beats' at the age of 20. He was then selected to join forces with the 'Rock Like This' crew, running parties for over 7 years with some massive names such as Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts, A-Skillz and plenty more. During his breaks stint of the mid 2000s, he paired up with UK friend Jimmy Le Mac, and formed the partnership What Now?, producing bass heavy breaks for multiple labels. This lead them to start the label Loophole Recordings, which they continue to run together, scouting Australian talent and releasing quality electronic music from around the globe. In 2013 he continued to move with the ever changing stream of music, collaborating with David Bass to form the Melbourne touring and club brand All Good, blooding new talent and hosting some of the best international acts in house techno and bass. In 2017, He currently holds down residencies and regular guest spots at Revolver, e55, Section 8, Workshop, Brown Alley, The Brunswick Hotel, The Railway Hotel and various other venues.

In the last 10+ years Flip has built a massive eclectic collection of music, and used it to play in a long list of bars and clubs around Australia, played for and collaborated with the country's best touring agents, promoters and crews, played a collection of the country's favourite music festivals, warmed up for various international headliners, mixed multiple commercially manufactured CD series, produced tracks for numerous labels and worked in the music industry with passion and ambition. In 2017 and beyond he will continue to explore, nurture, create and be inspired by music and the people around him striving to do the same.
